How WhisperBee works
1. Open the hive.
On Android, tap your phone to the NFC tag on a hive, or scan the hive's printed QR code with the Camera on either phone. Either way the first open shows the summary, with the last inspection's voice note ready to play back — it keeps playing if you lock the phone, with controls on the lock screen. Then start today's recording hands-free — shake the phone, or tap the NFC tag a second time on Android — gloves on, no menus.
2. Capture the inspection.
Speak naturally — your words are transcribed with a beekeeping-tuned vocabulary, and structured fields (queen seen, brood pattern, varroa count, temperament, and others) fill in automatically. Concerns become action items on the dashboard. Want both hands free to work the bees instead of pressing buttons on a phone? Lock it and put it in a pocket while it records — capture continues for up to a minute, and the inspection saves the moment the recording ends.
3. Trust the offline path.
Everything saves locally first. Audio queues for transcription, photos queue for upload, edits hold their own. When the network returns, sync runs in the background — no spinner, no lost work.

How accurate is voice transcription for beekeeping terms?
The speech-to-text is primed with a beekeeping vocabulary list and post-corrected by a deterministic rules layer — supersedure, varroa, nuc, propolis all come through correctly without you having to over-enunciate.
Is the AI making decisions for me?
No. Open the inspection on the mobile app or web portal and edit anything the model got wrong. The call on what to do for your bees is yours.
