Delete your WhisperBee account
You can delete your WhisperBee account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains what gets removed, what we keep, and how to start the deletion — including a no-login path for people who have lost access to their account.
How to delete
1. Preferred: delete from your account (signed in)
Sign in at whisperbee.app/portal/account and click Delete my account. You'll be asked to confirm by typing your email address. Deletion is irreversible and happens immediately on confirmation. The same option is available in the mobile app under Settings.
2. Locked out or lost your device? Email us.
If you can't sign in — lost device, can't access the email or OAuth provider you registered with, or any other reason — send a deletion request to privacy@whisperbee.app.
- From: the email address associated with your WhisperBee account. We'll reply with a confirmation link sent to that address — clicking it verifies it's you.
- Subject: Account deletion request
- Body: a one-line confirmation that you want your account deleted. You don't need to give a reason.
We acknowledge receipt within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of receipt (45 days for California residents under CCPA/CPRA, extendable by an additional 45 days with notice).
Just want to delete some of your data?
You don't need to delete your whole account to remove individual records.
- Inside the app — open any hive, inspection, treatment, harvest, or photo and delete it from its detail screen. These records are soft-deleted: hidden from your views right away, with the underlying row retained while your account is active so we can restore it if you email support@whisperbee.app within 90 days. Soft-deleted records are permanently purged when you delete your account. Voice recordings are attached to their inspection: deleting an inspection hides its recording, and the underlying audio file is purged from our storage when you delete your account.
- By email — if you can't sign in, or you want help finding the right records to delete, write to privacy@whisperbee.app from the email address on your account and describe exactly what to delete (hive name, inspection date, photo, voice recording, etc.). Same response timeline as account deletion: 3 business days to acknowledge, 30 days to complete (45 for California residents under CCPA/CPRA).
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, all associated personal data, hive data, and voice recordings in our systems are permanently purged immediately at the time of deletion; our audio file storage is purged on a best-effort basis immediately thereafter. Specifically, we remove:
- Your account profile
- All apiaries
- All hives
- All inspections (including the transcripts and extracted fields)
- All action items (concerns surfaced by the rules engine)
- All treatments
- All harvests
- All photos (the underlying files in our storage)
- All voice recordings (the underlying audio files in our storage)
- All AI usage records and chat history
- All NFC tag associations
What is retained, and why
A small set of records remain after account deletion. These are described in detail in our Privacy Policy §7:
- Legal and compliance records. We may retain limited records (such as the fact that an account was deleted and the date of deletion) for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
- De-identified, aggregated data. We may retain data (such as anonymized community statistics) that cannot reasonably be linked back to you after account deletion.
- Subprocessor copies. Records held by our subprocessors (authentication, AI processing, payment, error reporting) are purged in accordance with each subprocessor's retention policy and may persist for up to 30 days at those subprocessors before complete erasure.
